Obituary of Elizabeth Rose Leroux

LEROUX, Elizabeth ROSE

entered into rest peacefully, with family by her side, at St Joseph’s Hospice, London ON, on August 3rd, 2021 in her 78th year.

Rose was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the eldest of eight.  After growing up in Dublin, the family emigrated when Rose was 13, from Dublin to Montreal in 1956. It was in Montreal that she met the love of her life and married, moving then to Belleville ON to raise her family.  In 1975 she began a life long career in Real Estate. In 1991, the family relocated to London where she joined, and remained with, Oliver and Associates as a broker, for almost 30 years. Well respected in her field, Rose served terms as President of Quinte and District Real Estate Association, the London and St. Thomas Association of Realtors, President of the Ontario Real Estate Association, was a founding member of CREA and a creator of For Wise Moves, a service to assist seniors when downsizing.

Rose lived a life filled with love, passion and family. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her for her humour, kindness, and ever present guiding hand. Armed with Irish proverbs to solve any problem, her favourite was always “This too shall pass”.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 55 years, Michael Leroux. Beloved Mother to Kerry and Kimberly, and devoted grandmother to Delaney. Dear sister to Gina (Frank), Mary, Terry (Karen) and Sue. Predeceased by her brother Thomas, her sister Gloria, and her parents, Thomas and Sheila Bergin.

A private family farewell has been held. Our family would like to thank her many friends who have sent flowers and condolences, and offered memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice or the London Regional Cancer Program in Rose’s honour. Thank you as well to the exceptional staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, for their compassionate care.  She will be forever missed.
