I'm sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I was extremely fortunate to have had him as a friend.
I admired his openness and honesty as Jim was truly a caring man who loved his family and was very willing to help others.
Jim was a fine teacher and a coach who excelled in basketball, football and wrestling as he was thought of in the highest regards by both his students and his fellow staff members.
RIP Jim and thanks for being a true friend.
Sincerely.

I first meet Jim in Fort William (Thunder Bay) as a student at the Fort William Collegiate high school as a student . We later meet again in life when we both landed up as teachers and coaches of wrestling in the London area. Jim and I travelled often with our teams to various wrestling tournaments throughout the province and the U.S.
I will always remember Jim as a fierce and fair competitor who always put his students well being and concerns first. He was loved and highly respected by his students. He expected no less then their best effort and he always praise their results whether they were successful or not. A great teacher, coach and friend , who I will always remember.
My condolence to his wife, children and family members. It was my good fortune to have known and befriend Jim . He will be in my thoughts and prayers .

My sincere condolences to Jim's family. I have many fond memories of Mr Dempsey during my high school years at SDCI in the 1970's. Through his compassion, love of teaching and overall positive demeanor, he taught me respect and responsibility that has stayed with me my entire life. He was a great man, and will be dearly missed.
