Gerry will be missed by all his friends at SARI Therapeutic Riding, where he volunteered thousands of hours. Gerry was our go-to when we purchased our miniature horses Tinker and Belle. He trained them to line drive, drive single and double. He pampered them and their harness regularly and was often found tinkering in the barn just showing them extra care. Gerry was instrumental in getting our driving program up and running, providing a new sensory experience to participants with significant special needs, and a competitive experience to others more independent. He routinely took driver's to shows both in house, local and with the Tri County Carriage Association - and always came home with ribbons. Gerry was so proud of his students and ponies, but not as proud as we were to have him on the team. He was always happy to stop and chat in the office, always asked how we were doing, got to know our families and always shared in laughter. He was sometimes cheeky poking fun at us too, and we loved it! Outside of his coaching Gerry was regularly called upon to BBQ for special events and even be Santa's little helper driving the reindeer at Christmas and handing out presents to kids. He was a great fundraiser and helped us each year with a raffle for a once in a lifetime carriage ride at the Royal. We will so miss our beloved friend Gerry, and will cherish these memories of his impact forever.
