Obituary of Robert Eric von Dehn
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Rob von Dehn on Friday, November 8th. Rob was a devoted husband to Lesley and a loving father to Lexi, Karly, Kate, and Mitch.
Rob is survived by his mother, Moni; his brother, Rick (Emily); his sister, Deb (Karl); his niece and nephew, Kara and Steven; his mother and father-in-law, Agnes and Paul Bentley; his brother-in-law, Scott Bentley; and his aunt, Barb Dehn.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship that will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. He was, and always will be, loved by all.
A cherished member of the London, Ontario, community, Rob was known for his warmth, kindness, and his dedication to others. He gave generously of his time, whether coaching sports, volunteering on field trips, or helping out at lunch duty in his kids’ schools. Rob was also his kids’ biggest cheerleader, always on the sidelines with a proud smile, encouraging them in every game and cheering louder than anyone. Deeply loved and respected by the many friends he made throughout his life, Rob’s humour, compassion, and spirit will be profoundly missed.
Rob found peace and joy at the family cottage in Bayfield, Ontario, where he spent countless hours caring for the land he loved. From cleaning the beach to tossing rocks from the lake, mowing the lawn, and always greeting neighbours with a friendly chat, Rob made the cottage feel like a home to all who visited. Known for building amazing bonfires and his love of playing cards, Rob’s presence turned the simplest tasks and gatherings into memories of laughter, friendship, and connection.
Rob was always the hardest worker, never one to sit still. He was quick to lend his time and a helping hand to anyone in need, tackling problems with skill and a smile. Known for his ability to fix just about anything, he was a go-to person for friends and family alike, always ready to make things right with his generous spirit and practical know-how.
Rest in peace, dear Rob. You will be forever missed, but your legacy lives on in the love and joy you brought to each of us.
