Obituary of George Ward VanOstrand
George passed away peacefully on September 25, 2018 at LHSC-University campus,London at the age of 86. Dearly loved husband of Jan Devereux. Much respected "Dad" of Chris (Kathy), Robin (Randy) and John (Joanne). Proud ``Grandpa George`` of Joshua and Amanda (Heidi).
George received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y. and, after coming to Canada, taught music (saxophone performance and music education) at Western University. His other passionate interests included wood fired pottery, tennis, golf, and his men's group.
A service to celebrate George`s life will be held at Bishop Cronyn Memorial Church, 442 William St., London, on Saturday, October 13th at 11:30 am, with doors open one hour prior to the service. Donations to the London Community Foundation – Devereux/VanOstrand Fund, 130 King St., London ON N6A1C5 ensure that George`s support for music and the arts will continue.
